Printing and export problems
Updated
In short
If Save as PDF does nothing, allow pop-ups for Lovely Seating. If an image is too large, use Save as PDF. If colours or corner art are missing, turn on background graphics in the print dialog. A watermark or lock means the wedding isn't on Pro. Fix any warnings above the preview before printing.
Exports live under Print & Export (Print on a phone). Pick your symptom below for the cause and the fix.
The preview has a watermark, or the buttons show a lock
Why: previews are free, but downloading and printing are part of Pro.
Fix: upgrade, and the watermark and locks disappear from every export. If someone shared the wedding with you, the owner needs to be on Pro. See the watermarked preview on the free plan.
I clicked Save as PDF and nothing happened
Why: Save as PDF opens your chart in a new tab, then opens the print dialog. A pop-up blocker can stop the new tab from opening.
Fix: look for a blocked pop-up icon in your address bar and allow pop-ups for lovelyseating.com, then click again. When the new tab opens, set Destination to Save as PDF and click Save. If the dialog doesn’t appear, click the Save as PDF button at the top of that tab.
“This export is too long for a single image”
Why: browsers limit how big an image can be. Long lists and large posters can go past it, and iPhones and iPads have a lower limit than computers.
Fix: use Save as PDF instead of Download image. A PDF keeps every page at full quality and is what print shops prefer anyway. A smaller page size also helps if you really need an image.
Colours, background or corner art are missing
Why: many browsers leave out background colours and images when printing, unless you ask for them.
Fix: in the print dialog, open More settings and tick Background graphics(Chrome and Edge). In Safari, tick Print backgrounds. Then save or print again.
The chart is cut off, tiny or on the wrong paper
- Choose the size first. Under Page, pick the paper or poster size you’ll actually print on, and portrait or landscape.
- Match it in the print dialog. Set the same paper size there, with scale at 100% or Default, not “Fit”.
- Printing a poster? Save a PDF at poster size and send it to a print shop. Home printers can’t print A1 or 24 × 36 in on one sheet. See paper sizes and how to print.
The chart doesn’t show my latest changes
Why: the PDF is built from your saved plan. A change made a second ago might still be saving. If you have more than one seating plan, the export uses the one chosen under Seating plan.
Fix: wait for All changes saved in the top bar, check the right seating plan is selected, then export again.
Warnings above the preview
These never block an export, but they’re worth fixing before you print:
- “attending guests are not seated — they won’t appear on the chart”: seat them first. See a guest is missing from the chart.
- “tables are over capacity”: a table has more guests than seats. Add seats or move someone.
- “Some tables share the same name” or “Some tables have no name”: rename them so guests aren’t confused.
- “There are no tables to show on a floor-plan chart.”: add tables on the Floor plan screen first.
“Couldn’t render the image.”
Wait for the preview to finish loading, then try again. If it keeps happening, use Save as PDF, and tell us which browser you’re using.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my export have a watermark?
The wedding isn't on Pro. Previews are free, but downloads and prints without the watermark need Pro.
How do I get a PDF on my iPhone?
Tap Save as PDF. In the print screen that opens, use the Share button to save the PDF to Files or send it on. If the image option says the export is too large, the PDF still works.
Which is better for a print shop, PDF or image?
PDF. It keeps full quality at any size and holds every page. Choose the exact paper or poster size under Page before saving.
