Pro feature Share

Invite your partner, planner or family

Updated

In short

Open your wedding, click Share, type the person's email, choose Editor or Viewer and click Invite. We email them a private link, and they join by opening it while signed in. Inviting people needs Pro. Only the wedding's owner can invite, and you can invite as many people as you like.

You don’t need to share a login to plan together. Invite your partner, your planner or a parent, and they get their own access to the same wedding. Everyone sees one up-to-date plan, so there are no more “final_v3” spreadsheets flying around.

Inviting people is part of Pro

On the Free plan, clicking Share shows the upgrade options instead. Once you’re on Pro, the people you invite can also use Pro features on this wedding, like exports, without paying themselves.

Send an invite

  1. 1

    Open your wedding

Go to your dashboard and open the wedding you want to share.
  2. 2

    Click Share

It’s in the top bar, next to the save status. On a phone it’s the person icon with a plus sign. The Invite collaborators window opens.
  3. 3

    Enter their email

Type it under Invite by email. Use the address they’ll actually check, because that’s where the link goes.
  4. 4

    Choose a role

Pick Editor if they should make changes, or Viewer if they should only look. You can change this later. See editors and viewers.
  5. 5

    Click Invite

We email them a private link and you’ll see Invite emailed to their address. They appear under People with access.

Check who has joined

Under People with access, each person shows one of two states:

  • Invite sent — waiting for them to open the link: they haven’t joined yet.
  • Joined: they’ve opened the link and can now open the wedding from their own dashboard.

While someone is still waiting, two small buttons sit next to their name: Copy invite link and Resend invite email.

If the email doesn’t arrive

Ask them to check their spam or promotions folder first. If it still isn’t there, click Copy invite link and send the link yourself by text or WhatsApp. It works exactly the same way. You can resend the email too, but wait a couple of minutes between sends.

If you see “That address unsubscribed from our emails”, we can’t email that person. Copy the link and send it to them directly.

Each link is personal

Whoever opens the link first, signed in to their own account, gets access. Send each person their own invite, and don’t post a link in a group chat. If a link reaches the wrong person, remove them and invite the right person again. See remove someone or resend an invite.

Good to know

  • Only the owner can invite. The owner is whoever created the wedding. People you invite don’t see the Share button.
  • There’s no limit on people. Invite as many as you need: a partner, a planner, both mums.
  • They need a free account. The invite page lets them create one in under a minute. They don’t pay anything.
  • One person edits at a time. Lovely Seating isn’t live co-editing like Google Docs. Only one person makes changes at a time, and the others can ask to take over. Read one editor at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Does the person I invite need to pay?

No. They only need a free account. While you're on Pro, they can use the Pro features on your wedding too.

Can my partner and I both edit at the same time?

Not at the same moment. One person edits at a time so your changes never collide. The other person sees the plan and can tap Request edit to take over.

Can I invite someone who doesn't have an account yet?

Yes. The invite page offers to create a free account, then takes them straight to your wedding.

Why don't I see a Share button?

Only the wedding's owner sees it. If someone shared the wedding with you, ask them to invite other people.
