Accept an invite to someone’s wedding
Updated
In short
Open the link in your invite email. If you're signed in, click Join this wedding. If not, create a free account or sign in, and you'll be taken straight to the wedding. Afterwards it appears on your dashboard marked Shared. Each link works for one account only, so don't forward it.
When a couple or planner invites you, you get an email with a subject like “Olivia invited you to help plan Olivia & James’s Wedding”. Open the link in it and you’re one click away from the plan. It’s free, and you don’t need to install anything.
Join the wedding
- 1
Open the link in your email
You’ll see a page headed You’re invited, with who invited you and the wedding’s name. - 2
Already signed in? Click Join this wedding
Under the button it says Signed in as and your email. Check it’s the account you want to use, then click Join this wedding. - 3
Not signed in? Create an account or sign in
Click Create a free account to join, or I already have an account — sign in. When you’re done, we take you straight to the wedding and show You’ve joined the wedding.
Use the same browser
Signing in with Google
If you use Continue with Google and the invite went to that same Google address, we accept it for you automatically. The wedding simply appears on your dashboard.
Find the wedding later
Shared weddings sit on your dashboard next to your own. Their cards are marked Shared · edit or Shared · view, so you can tell what you’re allowed to do. Read more in editors and viewers.
If someone else is already making changes when you open the plan, you’ll see a bar saying who’s editing. That’s normal: only one person edits at a time. See one editor at a time.
If the link doesn’t work
- “This invite link isn’t valid”: the owner removed the invite, or the link was copied incompletely. Ask them to invite you again.
- “This invite was already accepted by another account”: someone, maybe you on a different account, already used it. Ask the owner to remove that entry and send you a fresh invite.
- You joined with the wrong account: the wedding is attached to whichever account accepted the link. Ask the owner to remove it and invite you again, then open the new link while signed in to the right account.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to pay to help plan someone's wedding?
No. You only need a free account. If the couple is on Pro, you can use the Pro features on their wedding too.
Can I forward the invite to my partner?
Please don't. Each link works for one account, so whoever opens it first gets access. Ask the owner to invite your partner separately.
I signed up but I don't see the wedding. What now?
Open the invite link again while signed in and click Join this wedding. This happens when you sign up on a different device or browser from the one where you opened the link.
Can I leave a wedding I was invited to?
There's no Leave button yet. Ask the owner to remove you from their Share settings.
