Upload your venue’s floor plan
Updated
In short
Choose Upload plan next to Room and add your venue’s PDF, PNG, JPG or iPhone photo. A guided setup takes four steps: upload, confirm the wall the AI measured, check the items it placed on your plan, and keep, hide or remove the drawing. Then Lay out tables offers layouts that fit.
Got a floor plan from your venue? Upload it and a short guided setup does the rest: the AI reads the drawing, you confirm one measurement, and the room with its doors, dance floor and bar appears on the plan, to scale. The header shows where you are (for example Step 2 of 4 · Set the scale).
Step 1: Upload the plan
- 1
Open Upload plan
On the floor plan, choose Upload plan next to Room (or Upload your venue’s floor plan inside the Room menu). - 2
Pick the file
A PDF, PNG, JPG or iPhone photo (HEIC), up to 20 MB. For a PDF with several pages, pick the page with the room. - 3
Crop and straighten
Drag the four corners onto the room. For a photo of a printed plan this also straightens it. Use Rotate if it’s sideways, then choose Use this plan.
The plan is stored privately with this wedding: only you and the people you share the wedding with can see it. Before it’s saved, your browser shrinks it and removes the photo’s hidden details, like location. Each wedding can have 3 uploads on Free and 10 on Pro.

Step 2: Set the scale
While the AI reads your plan (usually 10 to 30 seconds) you see its progress over the floor plan. Choose Cancel: set it up by hand if you’d rather not wait; your upload is kept.
- If your plan has measurements, the AI highlights a wall and says what it measured, like “42 ft (12.8 m)”. Choose Confirm if it’s right, or Adjust to drag the ends and fix the length.
- By hand: click one end of a wall you know, then the other end, type its length and choose Set scale. Switching between m and ft converts the number for you. The longest wall gives the most exact scale.
- No measurements on the plan? We estimate the scale from standard door widths (about 90 cm) and say so. Measure one wall when your venue tells you its length, or choose Use the estimate for now.
Step 3: Check the room
As soon as the scale is set, the AI places everything it found on top of your drawing: the room’s walls, doors and exits, dance floor, stage or DJ, bar, buffet, columns, fireplace and windows. Compare them with your plan, then drag, resize or delete anything that’s off, like any other item. Choose Add something we missed for anything it didn’t find, or Trace the walls to draw the room yourself (L-shaped rooms work). The AI never places tables or seats anyone.
Remove AI items takes away only what the AI added; your drawing, room and anything you added stay, and Undo brings them back. When it looks right, choose Accept all.
Step 4: Keep, hide or remove the drawing
Choose Keep visible, Hide it or Remove it. Hidden, it stays with the wedding: the eye button next to Venue plan shows or hides it at any time. Removing it keeps your room and items.

Lay out your tables
Choose Lay out tables when the setup finishes (or Lay out my tables in Venue plan). Enter your guest count, pick a table (60″ or 72″ rounds, 6 or 8 ft banquets, long tables) and a head table, and optionally your venue’s maximum capacity. You get up to three layouts side by side, each with how many guests it seats:
- Most room to dance: 120 cm between chairs and extra space around the dance floor.
- Fits everyone comfortably: 90 cm between chairs and a 150 cm main aisle from the entrance.
- Maximum capacity: 60 cm between chairs, every free spot used.
Every layout keeps clear space in front of exits, doors, the bar, buffet and stage, never covers a column, and stays inside the walls. If your guests don’t fit, it tells you what would, like switching to tables of 10. Pick a layout and the tables are placed; then drag them as usual. Guests who are already seated keep their tables.
Print a venue view
On Print & Export, a floor plan chart can show your venue’s plan faintly behind your tables: tick Show your venue’s floor plan faintly behind the chart. It’s handy for your coordinator. This option is part of Pro; free previews and charts never include the venue’s plan.
To change the size of your room by hand, see room size and real measurements.
Frequently asked questions
Is uploading a floor plan free?
Yes. Uploading, setting the scale, the AI's room items and the table layouts are free. Pro adds the venue view in exports, plus everything else Pro includes.
Who can see my venue's plan?
Only you and the people you share the wedding with. It's stored privately with the wedding, never on a public link.
What if the AI gets the room wrong?
Drag or delete the items, add missing ones with Add something we missed, or choose Remove AI items and trace the walls yourself. You can also measure again at any time from Venue plan.
My plan has several rooms. What do I do?
Crop to the room you're using when you upload, or trace that room's walls. A ceremony room can go in its own plan of the same wedding.
