AllSeated vs. Lovely Seating (for seating)

What happened to AllSeated?
AllSeated was, for years, a popular browser tool for wedding floor plans and seating — loved for its to-scale and 3D venue views. It was renamed Prismm, then acquired by Cvent in 2025, and in the process moved firmly toward venues and enterprise event teams. Our explainer on what happened to AllSeated walks through each date with Cvent’s sources and an export checklist.
Per Cvent’s timeline, since 26 August 2026 new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming. Existing Prismm events stay editable (and collaboration links active) until Prismm access ends in June 2027; after that, old Prismm work is view-only in Cvent. Cvent Event Diagramming’s home page only shows Prismm events dated 1 January 2022 or later, so export older ones first. If your plan lives there, export your guest list and rebuild it somewhere you can keep editing up to your wedding day.
How did AllSeated work?
You laid out the venue as a to-scale or 3D floor plan, added tables, and then dragged every guest onto a seat yourself — the room views were the strength, the seating was manual:
- To-scale and 3D floor plans — genuinely its best feature, aimed at visualising a venue.
- Manual seating — you dragged each guest onto a chair yourself; there was no relationship-aware auto-seat.
- Guest list + RSVPs imported from a spreadsheet.
- Built for professionals — venues and planners, rather than a couple planning one wedding.
Why doesn’t AllSeated fit couples any more?
Even before the retirement, the fit for a couple had drifted:
- It’s being retired. You can’t start new events in Prismm, and after June 2027 old work is view-only — not where a live plan should live.
- Enterprise pricing. Prismm is priced and sold for venues and event companies, not a single wedding.
- Seating was always manual. No keep-together / keep-apart, no one-click seating — you placed everyone by hand.
- More than you need. Full 3D venue diagramming is overkill when you want a clear seating chart you can hand your caterer.
The best AllSeated alternative: a tool made just for seating
Lovely Seating keeps what couples liked about AllSeated — a floor plan you build in the browser — and drops what didn’t fit: no enterprise contract and no manual-only seating. You lay out your room with tables, a dance floor and bar, and the tool seats everyone for you.
- Start from your AllSeated list. Import the guest list you already built in AllSeated in one step — no re-typing anyone (more below).
- A floor plan of your room. The floor plan maker lets you drag and drop your real layout — round, banquet, head and sweetheart tables, plus the dance floor, bar, stage and other venue objects — and seat guests chair by chair.
- Automatic seating. Tag who must sit together and who to keep apart, and Auto-Seat places your unassigned guests in one click, honouring every rule — locked guests and reserved tables stay put, and one click undoes it.
- Every guest detail. RSVPs, meals, dietary notes, age and accessibility flags, plus-ones, groups and households — all joined to the seat.
- Complete exports (Pro). Nine export types in seven themes — a printable floor-plan seating chart, A–Z list, table list, table cards, table numbers, meal directory, place cards, welcome sign and a guest CSV — all from the same plan.
- A “find your seat” page for guests. Publish a guest page + QR code so guests search their name and see their table — and embed it on your wedding website (Pro).
- Free to build, no cap on guests. The free plan covers one wedding with unlimited guests and Auto-Seat; a one-time $39 Pro unlocks exports, place cards, the guest QR page and collaboration with your partner or planner — no subscription.
Export your guest list as a CSV while Prismm is still available, then import it here — your names, RSVPs and meals come across, and you can rebuild your room in an afternoon.
Every guest detail in one place — not a bare name on a chair
AllSeated tracked RSVPs and meals too. The difference in Lovely Seating is that every detail stays joined to the seat — a plus-one, a dietary flag or a late decline updates your plan and your caterer counts at once. Each guest carries RSVP, meal choice, dietary notes, age and accessibility flags, side, group and household, and you can sort, filter and bulk-edit the whole list.
Open any guest and you get the full picture at a glance — no jumping between the guest list and a separate seating canvas.
And because meals live on the guest, you get a running count the moment you need it — the exact number your caterer needs, dietary flags included:
Still pulling the list together? Lovely Seating keeps every guest in one organised list, and the guest list import brings in an existing spreadsheet or CSV without retyping.
Let Auto-Seat do the arranging AllSeated makes you do by hand
This is the part AllSeated never did for you. In AllSeated you placed every guest onto the floor plan by hand — and again whenever an RSVP changed. Lovely Seating lets you set relationships once and seat the whole room in a click:
- Must sit together. A hard rule — couples, families, a guest and their carer always land at the same table.
- Would prefer together. A soft preference — honoured when there’s room, relaxed when there isn’t.
- Keep apart. A hard rule — feuding relatives or an ex never share a table, and the reason stays private.
When a plus-one appears or a late RSVP comes in, you don’t rebuild the room — re-run Auto-Seat and it seats anyone still unassigned into open seats, while guests you’ve already seated stay put. Lock anyone you never want moved, and undo any run in one click. Prefer to place people yourself? You still can, on the same plan — with a warning if you seat someone who’s declined or overfill a table.

Households, keep-together and keep-apart rules, and a one-click seat for the whole room — the part AllSeated leaves entirely to you.
Should you switch? An honest take
We’d rather you land in the right place than just sign up. Here’s the honest split:
- You're a venue or enterprise team — Cvent is moving Prismm users to Cvent Event Diagramming.
- You specifically need photoreal 3D venue walkthroughs, not a seating chart.
- You're a couple or independent planner who needs a seating chart that will still exist on your wedding day.
- You want the tool to seat everyone automatically, keeping families together.
- You'd rather build the whole plan free than sign an enterprise contract.
- You want a guest QR find-your-seat page and print-ready exports for guests and your caterer.
How do you move your AllSeated guest list over?
Export it as a CSV (or copy it from a spreadsheet) and import it into Lovely Seating — it takes minutes and you don’t re-type anyone. It matches the columns for you, links plus-ones, and flags duplicates before anything is added. (It’s a one-time CSV import, not a live sync with other platforms.)
Stuck on a step? The Lovely Seating help center walks through importing a CSV — including one exported from The Knot, Zola or Joy — merging duplicates and adding plus-ones.
Bring your AllSeated list and seat it free
Import your guests from AllSeated, lay out your room, and let Auto-Seat do the arranging. Build the whole plan free — a one-time $39 only when you’re ready to export.

Frequently asked questions
Is AllSeated shutting down?+
It's being retired. AllSeated was renamed Prismm, then acquired by Cvent. Per Cvent's migration timeline, since 26 August 2026 new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming; existing Prismm events stay editable until Prismm access ends in June 2027, after which old Prismm work is view-only in Cvent. If you built your seating in AllSeated, you'll need somewhere else to keep planning.
How do I export my AllSeated/Prismm data before it's retired?+
Export your guest lists, floor plans and reports from Prismm before access ends in June 2027 — Cvent advises exporting anything you want to keep. Cvent Event Diagramming's home page only shows Prismm events dated 1 January 2022 or later, so export older events first. Then import your guest-list CSV into Lovely Seating.
Is Prismm the same as AllSeated?+
Yes — AllSeated rebranded to Prismm, so they're the same product line. In the process it moved firmly upmarket to venues and enterprise event teams, with custom/enterprise pricing rather than the couple-friendly tool AllSeated once was.
What's the best AllSeated alternative for a couple?+
A tool aimed at couples rather than enterprise venues: Lovely Seating lays out your room in the browser, imports your guest list, and seats everyone automatically by relationship — free to build, with a one-time $39 only to export. No contract, nothing to install. (Venue and enterprise teams are being moved to Cvent Event Diagramming.)
Can I move my guest list off AllSeated?+
Yes. Export your guest list as a CSV while AllSeated/Prismm is still available, then import it into Lovely Seating — it matches the columns automatically, links plus-ones and flags duplicates before anything is added.
Did AllSeated seat guests automatically?+
No. AllSeated was a floor-plan and diagramming tool — you placed every guest by hand. Lovely Seating adds one-click relationship-aware seating: tag who sits together and who to keep apart, and Auto-Seat fills your tables. Re-run it after an RSVP change and it seats anyone still unassigned (e.g. a new +1) into open seats; guests you've already seated stay put.
What will it cost compared to AllSeated/Prismm?+
Prismm is enterprise software (from around $49/month on an annual commitment, often custom-quoted). Lovely Seating is free to build your whole plan at any size, with a single $39 one-time payment to unlock exports — no subscription.
Written and fact-checked by the Lovely Seating team. Last verified October 2026 against each platform’s own website and help documentation — we update this page as the tools change.
