Short answer: yes, a simple one. The Joy seating chart — people also call it the WithJoy seating chart, after Joy’s web address, withjoy.com — is a table-assignment tool connected to your guest list (some people search “with joy seating chart”, or run it together as “joywithjoy”, too). Joy says it syncs with that list: guests appear as RSVPs come in, and you drag them into table assignments. What it doesn’t do is seat anyone for you.

Joy is one of the best free wedding-website and RSVP tools around, and its guest list is lovely. Seating is the simpler part — here’s the honest picture:

Guests who RSVP on your Joy website land in your guest list, and you drag them into table assignments yourself. The flow:

• Open your Joy guest list. Guests who RSVP through your Joy website are added as their responses come in.
• Tag and filter. Joy suggests tagging guests by group (college friends, his family…) so you can assign tables group by group.
• Assign your guests. Drag guests into table assignments and rearrange as you go.
• Re-place by hand when plans change. When someone declines or adds a plus-one, you move people yourself.

For a small, simple wedding it’s fine. For a full or changing guest list, the gaps add up:

• Everything is manual. No auto-seat to keep families together and feuding relatives apart for you.
• Changes mean rework. New RSVPs appear in your list, but every move on the plan is yours to make.
• No floor plan of your room. We couldn’t find a venue-layout editor in Joy’s documentation, so there’s nothing visual to hand your venue or caterer.
• It gets time-consuming. Built for simple weddings; a large, dynamic list is a lot of manual upkeep.

The good news: the guest list you’ve built in Joy is easy to get out, and it’s all you need to build a proper seating chart elsewhere. On the web:

• Go to your Guest List and use Export All Guests (or select guests and Export Selection) to download a CSV.

In 409 weddings planned on Lovely Seating (Jul–Oct 2026), couples seat a median of 8 guests per table. Joy’s table assignments don’t show a room layout, so it helps to know what each table really seats before you start. The usual rule of thumb:
