One card for every seated guest
Place cards are built from the information already in your plan — the display names, tables and (optionally) meals — so there’s nothing to retype.
What’s on each card
The guest’s name is the star. Below it, their table — plus your couple initials and an optional meal line for plated service. All drawn from the plan.
Straight from your list
Every seated guest becomes a card automatically. No copying names into a design file one by one.
Prints the name you choose
Cards use each guest’s display name — so the card can read “Alex” while your working record keeps “Alexandra”.
Only for guests with a seat
Cards are made for guests assigned to a table. Unassigned and declined guests are left out of the set.
Show only what you need
Keep the couple initials, table label and meal line — or hide them so the guest’s name stands alone.
From seating plan to printed cards
Step 1
Seat your guests
Cards are made for guests assigned to a table, so finish your seating first — exact seats optional.Step 2
Pick a style
Choose a theme so the cards match your seating chart and the rest of your wedding materials.Step 3
Preview every name
Review the set for long names, spelling and display names before you print anything.Step 4
Save as PDF
Export the whole set laid out on a print sheet with cut guides, ready for your printer.
Match the cards to your seating design
Place cards should look like part of your wedding, not a template downloaded at the last minute. Apply the same theme you used for your seating chart and the cards come out coordinated — no separate design work.
Choose from styles like Blush Romance, Sage Greenery, Classic Elegance, Modern Minimal and Coastal Breeze. Whichever you pick, the guest name stays the most prominent element and readable — the preview shows you how each name sits on the card, including the long and hyphenated ones.
Use one theme across the chart, guest lists and cards for a set that feels made together.
The whole set, laid out for printing
Once the content and style are right, Lovely Seating arranges the cards onto a print sheet for you — several to a page, in alphabetical order, with dashed cut guides so they’re easy to trim.
Preview the full set first: how many cards and pages, how each name fits, and the cut lines. Then Save as PDF at the chosen paper size. Lovely Seating makes the file — the paper, printing, cutting and folding happen with your printer, not in the app.
Example: Olivia & James’s place cards
Fictional sample data, used to demonstrate the product.
With their 126 guests seated, Olivia and James choose the same Sage Greenery style as their chart. Only seated guests are turned into cards, so declined and unassigned people are left out automatically.
The preview shows that “Alexandra Thompson” is too long for the card, so they set her display name to “Alex Thompson” and regenerate. When one guest moves from Table 7 to Table 6, they just update the seating plan and export a fresh set — no hunting through a separate design file for that one card.
Their planner gets a tidy PDF, cards in alphabetical order, ready to trim and set out.
A design template — or cards from your plan
Place cards are already 90% done: the names and tables live in your seating plan. Why retype them into a template?
Retyped by hand
- Copy every guest name into a template
- Re-enter each table by hand
- Hunt for the right card when a guest moves
- Reconcile the cards against the seating chart
- A different look from your other materials
Generated from your plan
- Every seated guest becomes a card
- Uses your display names and tables
- Move a guest, regenerate the set
- Always matches the current plan
- Same theme as your chart & lists
Lovely Seating’s cards show the guest’s name and their table. For helping guests find their table at the entrance, pair them with an alphabetical guest finder.

What to know about place cards
Place cards vs escort cards
A place card sits at the guest’s setting; an escort card waits at the entrance to point them to a table. Lovely Seating’s cards show the name and the table — handy for the setting, and clear about where they’re sitting.
Cards need a seated guest
Cards are generated for guests assigned to a table. Give someone a table (exact seat optional) and they’re included; unassigned and declined guests are left out.
An old PDF won’t update itself
The next set you generate uses the current plan. A PDF you already downloaded stays as it was — regenerate it after important seating changes.
Printing happens with your printer
Lovely Seating prepares the digital file with the cards laid out and cut guides. Paper choice, printing, trimming and folding are handled by you or your print provider.

Wedding place-card maker questions
Can Lovely Seating make a place card for every guest?
It generates a card for every guest assigned to a table in your plan. Unassigned and declined guests are left out of the set, so you print only the cards you need.
Do I have to type every name again?
No. Cards are built from the guest information already in your plan — just review the display names and spelling in the preview before you print.
Can the place cards match my seating chart?
Yes. Apply one of the shared themes — Blush Romance, Sage Greenery, Classic Elegance, Modern Minimal or Coastal Breeze — and the cards coordinate with your chart and lists.
Can I include the table on the card?
Yes. Each card shows the guest’s name prominently, with their table below it, plus optional couple initials and a meal line.
Can I add the meal choice to the cards?
Yes — where a guest has a meal choice, it can appear as a small line on their card, handy for plated service. Private dietary details aren’t printed automatically.
What size are the cards and how are they laid out?
Cards are arranged several to a page on a print sheet, in alphabetical order, with dashed cut guides for trimming. You export the sheet as a PDF at the chosen paper size.
Can I print just one changed card?
The card maker generates the full set from your current plan. If one guest changes, update the plan and regenerate the set so everything stays consistent.
Does Lovely Seating print and deliver the cards?
No. Lovely Seating prepares the print-ready file. Printing, cutting, folding and delivery are arranged separately with your printer.
Create every place card from the plan you already made
Use your approved names and tables, choose a coordinated style, and prepare the complete set — without rebuilding it in another design tool.
