Print place cards and escort cards
Updated
In short
Choose Place cards in Print & Export to print a name card for every seated guest. Each card shows the guest’s name, table and meal (if set), with your names on top if you like. Cards print two across on A4 with a dashed cut line. The same cards work as escort cards on a welcome table.
Lovely Seating makes a printable name card for every guest with a seat, straight from your seating plan. There’s no mail merge and nothing to type twice. When you move someone, their card updates on the next export.
Print your place cards
- 1
Seat your guests
Only guests with a table get a card, so finish your seating first. See seat guests at tables. - 2
Choose Place cards
Go to Print & Export and click Place cards under What to export. - 3
Style them
Pick a theme above the preview. Under What to include, tick or untick Couple’s names on each card. - 4
Save, print and cut
Click Save as PDF. Print on card stock, then cut along the dashed line around each card.
What’s on each card
- The guest’s name, large, in the theme’s display font. A preferred display name is used if you’ve set one.
- Their table name, between two thin rules.
- Their meal in small capitals, if you’ve recorded one. This helps servers bring the right plate.
- Your names along the top, if Couple’s names on each card is ticked.
- A small floral sprig and a fine frame in the theme’s colours.
Cards are sorted A–Z by first name and print two across on a portrait A4 sheet, page after page. Guests marked Declined don’t get a card.

Using them as escort cards
Escort cards sit on a table near the entrance and tell each guest where to go. Because every card already shows the guest’s name and table, the same export works for both jobs. Print one set for the welcome table, or fold them into tents and place them at each setting. There isn’t a separate escort-card design.
If you’d rather have one board than dozens of cards, the alphabetical seating chart does the same job on a single sheet.

Frequently asked questions
Why are some guests missing from my place cards?
Only guests with a table get a card, and declined guests are left out. Seat the missing guests and export again.
Can I print seat numbers on place cards?
No. Each card shows the guest’s table, not a specific chair.
Can I take the meal off the cards?
The meal only appears for guests who have one recorded. There isn’t a separate switch to hide it.
What paper should I use?
Thick card stock in A4 works well. If you print on US Letter, choose US Letter under Page first so the cards fit the sheet.
