When your Find Your Seat page comes down

Updated

In short

Guest names and tables come off your Find Your Seat page 3 days after your wedding date. A thank-you note from you then shows until 30 days after the wedding, and the page is gone. Without a date, it comes down a year after its last update. You can also take it down any time. Your seating plan isn’t affected.

Guest names shouldn’t stay online forever, so your Find Your Seat page has a built-in end date. You don’t need to remember to remove it.

When it comes down by itself

  • With a wedding date: guest names, tables and the map come down 3 days after the wedding. That leaves time for guests who look back at the page, or a day-after brunch. Then the page shows your thank-you note until 30 days after the wedding, and then it’s gone.
  • Without a date: 365 days (a year) after the page was last published or updated. Each update restarts the clock.

The bottom of the card in QR Code / Seat Finder tells you which applies, for example Guest names come down 3 days after the wedding.

Your thank-you note

Write it in the After the wedding section of the builder, in up to 200 characters. Guests who open your link or scan the QR code after the wedding see your names, your theme, “Thank you for celebrating with us” and your note. If you don’t write one, they see “It meant the world to have you there. ♥”. No guest names or tables are left on the page by then.

Add your date

If your page says it has no wedding date yet, add one in Wedding details (click your wedding’s name at the top of the screen). The page then comes down after the wedding instead of a year later.

Take it down early

  1. 1

Open QR Code / Seat Finder

Go to QR Code / Seat Finder (QR Code on a phone).
  2. 2

    Click Take down

It’s the small link at the bottom right of the Find Your Seat card.
  3. 3

    Confirm

A box explains that guests’ QR code and link will stop working until you publish again. Click Take down to confirm. The page comes down straight away and the card says Your page is taken down.

Your link is kept

Taking the page down pauses it rather than deleting it. Click Publish again in the same card and the same link and QR code work again, so signs, invitations and website embeds don’t need changing.

Only the wedding’s owner can take the page down. To keep the page up but stop it changing, switch off Keep it live instead. See changes update live.

What guests see afterwards

While you’ve taken the page down, anyone opening the link or scanning the QR code sees your names and This seating page isn’t available right now, with a note to check back later or ask the couple or the wedding party. Once the thank-you window has ended, they see This seating page isn’t available instead. The same messages appear in an embed on your wedding website.

Deleting your wedding

If you delete a wedding that has a live page, the page goes offline at once so guests can’t keep finding seats. If you click Undo straight away, the page comes back with the same link. See delete a plan or wedding and undo.

Your plan stays put

Taking the page down, or letting it expire, only removes the public guest page. Your guest list, tables and seating stay in your account, and you can still print every export.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep the page up longer after the wedding?

No. Guest names come down 3 days after your wedding date, and the thank-you note stays until 30 days after it. If guests need their table later, share an exported chart instead.

My QR code says the page isn’t available. Why?

The page was taken down, the wedding was deleted, or it passed its end date. If the wedding is still to come, check your date in Wedding details, and see whether the page is still published in QR Code / Seat Finder.

Can I bring back a page I took down?

Yes. Open QR Code / Seat Finder and click Publish again. You get the same link and QR code back, as long as the page hasn’t passed its end date.
