Name or number your tables
Updated
In short
New tables are numbered for you, like Table 1, Table 2 and so on, using the Name prefix you choose in Add tables. To rename one, open the table and change Table name in Table settings, then click Save. Named tables such as Paris or Family work too, and the floor-plan export can show numbers instead.
Every table gets a name when you add it, so you can start seating right away. Keep the numbers, or rename tables after places, songs or anything that means something to you two.
How tables are numbered
In Add tables, the Name prefix is “Table” unless you change it. The tables you add carry on from the highest number you already have. With Table 1 to Table 10, adding 2 more gives you Table 11 and Table 12. The hint under the field shows the names you’ll get.
Change the prefix to name a batch your way, for example “Family” for Family 1, Family 2 and Family 3. A head table from the setup wizard is called “Head Table”.

Names or numbers on the printed chart
- On the floor-plan chart, Table names shows each table’s name.
- Table numbers instead shortens names that start with “Table”, so “Table 5” prints as “#5”. Other names print as they are.
To print a card for each table, see table cards and table numbers.
Naming ideas
Places you’ve travelled, favourite films, or flowers from your bouquet all work well. If you use names, an alphabetical chart at the entrance helps guests find their table fast. More ideas in our seating chart ideas guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I renumber all my tables at once?
No. There's no bulk renumber. Rename tables one at a time in Table settings, which only takes a few seconds each.
Do I have to use numbers?
No. Any name works, up to whatever fits nicely on a table card. Numbers are just the starting point.
Will renaming a table move any guests?
No. Renaming only changes the label. Everyone stays at that table.
