What Find Your Seat is and how guests use it
Updated
In short
Find Your Seat is a small website for your guests. They scan your QR code, type their name and see their table on a little map, plus your schedule, menu and venue if you add them. Only seated guests appear, the page keeps itself current, and it comes down after the wedding. Building is free; publishing needs Pro.
Find Your Seat gives your wedding its own little website. Guests scan a QR code at the entrance (or tap a link you send them), type their name, and see which table they’re at and how to get there. They don’t need an app or an account, and you don’t need a huge printed chart.
How guests use it
- 1
Scan or tap
Guests scan the QR code on your sign, or open the link from your wedding website or a message. - 2
Type their name
After two letters, matches appear. Search forgives small typos (“Benjmin” finds Benjamin), accents, common nicknames (“Bill” finds William) and a partner’s surname. You can add your own nicknames for any guest too. - 3
See their table
The result looks like a place card: the table number in large type, the table name, and a small map of the room with their table glowing and a dotted path from the entrance. Couples and households seated together come back as one result, like “You & Sam are at Table 4”. - 4
Remember it
A tap on That’s me saves their seat on that phone. Next time they open the link, it goes straight to their seat, even if the venue wifi drops.
If nothing matches, the page suggests a close name (“Did you mean…”) or shows We couldn’t find that name. with a nudge to try the name on their invitation or ask the wedding party.
What’s on the page
- A cover with your names, your date and ceremony time, the venue name and an optional welcome line.
- A search box. Guests only see results for the name they type, never the full list.
- Optional sections you write yourself: a schedule with a countdown, the menu, and the venue address with directions.
- A Share with guests button that sends the page link (never anyone’s seat) by WhatsApp, Messages, email or a copied link.
- One of 24 themes, which starts on your chart’s theme.
You design all of this in a builder with a live phone preview. See design your guest page.
Nothing private is shared
Who appears on it
A guest can find themselves only if they:
- are seated at a table, and
- haven’t declined.
Guests who aren’t seated yet won’t be found, so finish your seating before the big day. If you’ve set a preferred display name for a guest, that’s the name on the page. Plus-ones are listed under their own names.
It stays up to date
With Keep it live switched on, the page updates every time your plan saves, from any screen. Last-minute table swaps show up without republishing. Your QR code keeps working even if you later change the link, so a sign you’ve already printed is safe.
When it comes down
Guest names and tables come down on their own 3 days after your wedding date. Then the page shows a thank-you note from you until 30 days after the wedding, and then it’s gone. If your plan has no date yet, it comes down a year after its last update. You can also take it down yourself at any time, and publishing again brings back the same link and QR code.
Setting it up
Go to QR Code / Seat Finder in your wedding (QR Code on a phone). The page is already filled in from your plan. Pick a theme, choose what to show, and click Publish page. You’ll get a link, a QR sign designer and code to embed on your wedding website. The full steps are in publish your guest page.

Frequently asked questions
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Find Your Seat is a normal web page. Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera or open the link, then type their name.
Can guests see the whole guest list?
No. Each search is matched on our server and returns at most five close matches, so the list never reaches a phone. With tablemates on, guests also see the first names of the people at their table.
Does it show seat numbers?
Yes, if you’ve placed the guest on a specific chair and Show seat numbers is on. Otherwise the page shows their table.
What if a guest doesn’t have a phone?
Keep a printed backup at the entrance, like an alphabetical seating chart, so everyone can find their table.
